The Sundance Film Festival is one of the world's most prestigious film events, attracting thousands of filmmakers, journalists, industry professionals, and attendees to Park City, Utah every January. The festival operates across 18 temporary venues — from screening rooms to press centers to hospitality lounges — each requiring reliable, high-performance networking for film screenings, live streams, point-of-sale systems, digital signage, and press operations.
The challenge: build a complete enterprise-grade network from scratch in each venue, ensure it performs flawlessly under heavy load, and maintain it around the clock during the festival — all in a compressed timeline where failure isn't an option.
End-to-end network deployment and management
Network Design & Build
Designed and deployed LAN/WAN topology for each venue, including IP addressing schemes, VLAN segmentation, and inter-VLAN routing for security isolation between production, guest, and staff networks.
Wi-Fi Deployment
Deployed enterprise wireless access points with optimal RF planning for each venue space, ensuring full coverage for high-density environments — from intimate screening rooms to large event halls.
Security & Segmentation
Implemented network segmentation with VLANs to isolate sensitive production traffic from guest Wi-Fi. Configured firewall rules and access controls for each network segment.
Infrastructure Management
Configured switches, routers, and cabling infrastructure for each venue. Managed DHCP, DNS, and NTP services to ensure consistent connectivity across all sites.
Real-Time Monitoring
Deployed monitoring dashboards to track network health, traffic patterns, and device status across all 18 venues in real time — enabling proactive issue resolution before users were affected.
Tier 2 Support
Provided on-site Tier 2 troubleshooting throughout the festival, diagnosing and resolving network issues under time pressure with zero tolerance for extended outages.
